Russ is one of those rare individuals that takes Gospel of Jesus Christ very seriously and quite literally, yet remains approachable, loving and fun. He is making a name for himself as somewhat of a "Mother Teresa" in Carrollton, GA. He is reaching the unreachable, touching the untouchable and loving the unlovable. His mission field may not be the lepers of India, but until Russ reached out with the Truth and Love of Jesus to some of his flock, I'm sure they felt like lepers in the eyes of most Christians. Russ engages, invests time in, loves and leads these "outsiders" into a real and lasting realtionship with Jesus of Nazareth. He is patient with the curious, skeptic, agnostic, humanist, athiest, Buddist, Muslim, Hindu and everyone in between. He has the ability to engage God's Beloved where they are and then gently guide them where God desires them to be.   -rob

A little info from Russ' web-site explaining what drives him to do what he does:

   "Here is the truth:  The world is a mess.  Something has gone deeply wrong with the human condition and we believe that there is but One Solution.  After much study, heartache, frustration, and great joy, the Truth of the scriptures as well as experience, has blown away the Jesus knock-offs of our day.  The problem is not that this "pseudo-Jesus" isn't radical...the problem is that he is not radical enough!  Dude named Paul Copan stated that sweet fact.  

    "We believe that the evidence,whether it be the historical, philosophical, experiential, archaeological, and all others in-between, point to the resurrection of the One from Nazareth.  We believe, as well, that the teachings of the One found in the Christian Scriptures are the source of guidance for this and future generations.  Again, this is not "blind-faith", but a belief in the One that inspired these writings has also preserved the Truth contained in them. Meaning they can be studied, scrutinized, examined and found to be totally reliable based upon a truthful examination of the evidence. In essence, we believe that the Creator, in his great love, came to live among us as a man, (Jesus), to teach us the way. And in turn, to satisfy justice, condemn evil, and pave the way back to the Creator, by giving his life for the guilt and disease of sin that the human race has suffered from ever since we decided to go our own way.  We believe that He came to live among us not to condemn, but for a glorious rescue resulting in an intimate relationship with your God and Creator.  Jesus.  He is the One."
