Russ is one of those rare individuals that takes Gospel of Jesus Christ very seriously and quite literally, yet remains approachable, loving and fun. He is making a name for himself as somewhat of a "Mother Teresa" in Carrollton, GA. He is reaching the unreachable, touching the untouchable and loving the unlovable. His mission field may not be the lepers of India, but until Russ reached out with the Truth and Love of Jesus to some of his flock, I'm sure they felt like lepers in the eyes of most Christians. Russ engages, invests time in, loves and leads these "outsiders" into a real and lasting realtionship with Jesus of Nazareth. He is patient with the curious, skeptic, agnostic, humanist, athiest, Buddist, Muslim, Hindu and everyone in between. He has the ability to engage God's Beloved where they are and then gently guide them where God desires them to be. -rob

"Here is the truth: The world is a mess. Something has gone deeply wrong with the human condition and we believe that there is but One Solution. The Needs The basics, that’s what most kids need, food, clean water, shelter, clothes, education, and love, lots of love! Our goal is to love and cherish each child we meet through outstretched arms and open hands. The outstretched arms are for hugs that most kids here in the tough streets of Matamoros do not receive. The open hands represent the many things we give to kids, such as food, water, education, clothes, and yes, sometimes, shelter. Our main vehicle for this is a preschool for small children of single mothers trapped in the cycle of poverty and abuse. We offer morning classes three days a week which include daily Bible stories, prayer, active godly songs, crafts, book time, game time, and much more. Each day we meet we feed the children two meals to ensure basic nutritional needs are met. Literacy is a new area of focus for us. We have a program designed to teach literacy to children who have little or no schooling. This is offered to primary age kids. How can a child learn of Christ in the Bible if he or she cannot read? Food distribution is a key part of our work. We deliver boxes of food to single moms at least once a month. Our goal is to enlist Christian friends to sponsor families so we can feed even more kids. In the last few weeks we have been ministering in our new ministry and surely God has been with us, six people has received Jesus in their lives and many more are coming back to the church,honor and glory belongs to God. On 8/11/09 we had a good time in one of the three churches where Parent brought children in the church to be prayed for and we saw God in that children prayers service, 4 people gave their lives to God and this is why we have a reason to praise God with you.
